PETRONAS Youngstar Day 2016

This is when my application to obtain a scholarship is accepted . This event was held in April at Taylor's Lakeside , Subang Jaya, Selangor.

I was so happy when I was accepted to go on PETRONAS interview to fulfill my dream to be an engineer. I have applied for PETRONAS after receiving SPM result and my achievement was qualified to apply for their scholarship. If not mistaken, it required to obtain minimal of 5A which includes A's in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Petronas Youngstar day consist of two parts which is Computer Assessment and Self Assessment. For the first part, which is computer assessment, applicant must answer some question (basic math and critical thinking) based on Cambridge Level Assessment. The question are quite tough when almost 40% of the applicants failed to pass the assessment. Surprisingly I passed (phew). My advice for this part is, be prepared with stationary including a calculator, without them you might eventually stuck in some question.

Second assessment (Self Assessment) are divided to Individual Interview and Group Discussion. Honestly, to face both of these, you must be PREPARED with some general knowledge of Oil and Gas (yes , Petronas interview so you must know something about them). Individual interview which will be conducted by a Petronas or GLC related officer and their position is very superior in their field. Hint : DON'T LIE but you can improvise some points which related about yourself. For Group discussion, they will provide you guys with a topic as an example like my topic is how to improve Petronas with a picture of an oil station.

The interview session ended around 6pm as the duration is very long because of the computer assessment which held earlier in the morning at 10am.
